Stolen from Kate? Her national day dress shows parallels

Was she inspired by her? Princess Delphine wears a dress clearly reminiscent of Catherine Look at Trooping the Color on Belgium’s national day.
Even days later, the topics of conversation about the national holiday in Belgium did not stop. After Princess Elisabeth, 21, with three impressive looks, now another woman is making a name for herself with her choice of clothes. Princess Delphine, 55, the illegitimate daughter of the late King Albert II, †89, and half-sister of the current King Philippe, 63, surprises Royal fans with her choice of outfit. The reason: For the Belgian Independence Day celebrations, she appears in an outfit that looks surprisingly similar to the look of Catherine, Princess of Wales, 41, at this year’s Trooping the Color.
Did Princess Delphine steal Andrew Gn’s design?
It was one of the most impressive royal appearances of 2023 so far: The Princess of Wales takes part in the Trooping the Color parade in a bright green dress by designer Andrew Gn. It’s Kate’s first time wearing one of the Singaporean’s creations, so the cut and details are particularly memorable. In addition to striking decorative buttons, the contrasting satin hem and small ruffled sleeves that flash out of the dress stand out. All these details can now be seen in Delphine’s national day dress.

The new noble wears an Atelier Exc dress for the celebrations on July 21. Delphine designed the colorful pattern on the dress of the custom-made brand themselves. Striking: Apart from the different color scheme, both the silhouette and the placement of the buttons and pockets are very reminiscent of Kate’s dress. Details such as a contrasting hem and the length of the two pieces also match. Designer Andrew Gn noticed this shortly after the appearance of the 55-year-old.
Coincidence or intentional? Parallels between Delphine’s dress and Catherine’s are noticeable at the latest at second glance.

“Shameless copy”: Kate’s designer accuses Delphine of plagiarism
The fashion designer from Singapore is outraged on social media. “This dress is a shameless copy of me,” he captioned a photo of Delphine in the blue and white dress on his Instagram Story. Deliberate copy or just coincidence? Jody Van Geert, the Belgian royals’ stylist, responded to the allegations and wrote on social media: “I want to congratulate Kate because she has the same good taste”. She also explains that the styling team was inspired by “Chanel style from the 1960s”. Both the designer of Kate’s dress and Atelier ExC therefore copied parts of their creations from the best in the fashion world.
