Princess Elisabeth of Belgium recently celebrated Prince Christian’s 18th birthday, and now she can blow out 22 candles on the birthday cake herself. On the occasion of her special day, the Belgian royal family published two portraits of the future heir to the throne, which not only show Elisabeth beaming with joy, but also dressed in an outfit that seems quite unusual at first glance.

Princess Elisabeth of Belgium chooses eye-catching top for birthday portraits

Hands casually put in her trouser pockets, hips tilted slightly to the side: Princess Elisabeth seems to be comfortable during the photo shoot. The birthday child is wearing an eye-catching top that attracts attention with its semi-transparent lace in the décolleté and embroidered sequins in floral shapes. The Dries VanNoten top, which costs around 830 euros, also impresses with an integrated spaghetti strap top with a deep V-neck and a turtleneck also decorated with sequins. The 22-year-old combines simple black suit trousers and earrings with a sparkling gemstone. Elisabeth wears her hair open and parted in the middle; the hair falls in light waves over her shoulders.

Daring look for an official portrait?

Elisabeth is celebrated on social networks for her look. For example, one comment says: “She looks absolutely gorgeous! I love the sequin embroidered top, it’s fun and chic!”

Another user thinks: “I love that the new generation dresses with personality,” and is probably also referring to the fresh look of Princess Leonor of Spain, Princess Amalia of the Netherlands and Princess Ingrid Alexandra of Norway. Because these young women also like to keep up with the times and dare to do something new.
