Sad news from Norway: Princess Ingrid Alexandra will not be able to celebrate her 18th birthday in January 2022 as planned.
Princess Ingrid Alexandra of Norway will turn 18 on January 21, 2022 – actually a reason to celebrate. The palace has announced the postponement of the gala dinner on its official website and the government has also published a statement. “Coming of age is a big event in the life of all young people. This applies not least to an heir to the throne who is supposed to represent Norway and the Norwegian people,” said State Minister Jonas Gahr Støre, 61, in a statement.
“I was looking forward to celebrating Princess Ingrid Alexandra on the day she came of age, but unfortunately the infection situation does not make it possible now. I still hope that she will have a nice party with her loved ones.” It also says that the official celebration of the day and the gala dinner will be postponed “until it makes the contagion situation at major events justifiable.”
