Prince William puts children first

While Princess Kate recovers in the hospital, Prince William is taking a break from his royal duties. The children are his top priority.
Princess Kate (42) is currently recovering from abdominal surgery in a private hospital in London. According to media reports, while his wife is in the hospital, Prince William (41) has cleared the royal schedule so that he can better care for the children in his wife’s absence. As reported by “People” magazine, among othersit is expected that William will not return to his public duties until after Kate returns from the hospital.
For the heir to the throne couple, the well-being of their three children Prince George (10), Princess Charlotte (8) and Prince Louis (5) is the top priority in exceptional situations. “We know that they are a very close family unit. He wants to be there for her,” the magazine quotes royal expert and author Robert Hardmann as saying about Williams’ current priorities. “A lot of what they do for their children is aimed at normalizing life and not making them feel like they are in a special gilded cage.”
William doesn’t want to leave everything to the nanny
The Prince of Wales therefore not only visits his wife regularly in the hospital, but is also busy taking his children to school and picking them up again. Together with the long-time nanny Maria Teresa Turrion Borallo, he ensures that the children can go about their normal everyday life. William and Kate are a “modern royal couple,” said Hardman. “There would have been more delegation in the past. He doesn’t want to leave everything to the nanny.”
Princess Kate is not expected to return to the public until just before Easter. She had surgery earlier this week. No further details are known about the background to the procedure – except that the 42-year-old will stay in the hospital for 10 to 14 days after the procedure.
Kate’s parents support the family
As “People” also claims to have learned from a source close to the family, Prince William will receive support from Kate’s parents Carole (68) and Michael Middleton (74) as soon as she is back home at Adelaide Cottage on Windsor. Kate’s siblings Pippa Matthews (40) and James Middleton (36) are also just a short drive away. “Her parents are a constant factor in raising her grandchildren,” the insider reports. “They will have a calming effect when she returns to Windsor to recover.” Kate is in good hands and will receive a lot of care and support at home.
