Princess Kate shone at the state banquet for the South Korean president. Her headdress in particular caused a stir.
The Princess of Wales wore a white Jenny Packham dress for the glamorous occasion. The elegant robe with gold decorations on the shoulders reached to the floor. She paired it with long white gloves. Kate also wore earrings that once belonged to Queen Elizabeth II (1926-2022), medals and sash.
Kate’s tiara wasn’t seen for a long time
On Princess Kate’s head shone the Strathmore Rose Tiara, which belonged to Queen Mum (1900-2002) and was a gift from her parents in 1923. According to the Daily Mail, the headdress was hasn’t been seen in public for a very long time. Kate is said to be only the second person to ever wear the tiara.
Queen Camilla also chose a special tiara for the state banquet. She wore a headdress decorated with rubies and diamonds that once belonged to the Queen, who died in September 2022. The red gems matched Camilla’s red velvet evening dress by Fiona Clare with flowing sleeves and a pleated skirt.
