Princess Madeleine
Move! That’s how luxuriously she will live with her family
Princess Madeleine and her family will move into an apartment in the upscale Östermalm district of Stockholm from August 2023. The new home is not only pure luxury, but also a real adventure playground for children.
Princess Madeleine returns home with her family – and in two senses. As the Court announced in an official statement on Tuesday, March 7, 2023, she will be married with husband Chris O’Neill, 48, and their children Princess Leonore, 9, Prince Nicolas, 7, and Princess Adrienne, 4,” move back to Stockholm in August 2023 [und] live on the floor of the royal stables in Stockholm.” Madeleine and Chris moved into one of the apartments back in 2014. We present the new old home of the Swedish royals, which could have come from Bullerbü, in more detail.
Princess Madeleine returns to her old home with her family
In less than five months, Madeleine and husband Chris will begin a new phase of life in the princess’s homeland. “They are very interested in the children now receiving a Swedish education,” Margareta Thorgren, head of information at the farm, told Aftonbladet newspaper. Translated, this rather vague formulation probably means: The couple wants to secure their children’s place in the line of succession. That only happens when “the princes and princesses of the royal family […] be brought up within the kingdom”, so it is written in the Swedish constitution. Translated this means: Madeleine’s children must have spent part of their childhood in Sweden.
For this, the family is returning to their old home and will move into a spacious apartment in the royal stables in the upscale Östermalm district of Stockholm with its designer stores and exclusive restaurants.
The royal stables – a paradise for children!
In 2014, the year after the wedding, King Carl Gustaf’s daughter, 76, lived with her lover in one of the apartments for the first time. The magnificent red brick building complex with its spacious stables was built in 1884. Not only horses and sweet ponies are housed here – Princess Leonore learned to ride there in 2018 – but also the vehicles such as limousines and carriages of the royal family.
Adjacent to the building is a sprawling, dreamlike garden, which offers a perfect playground for Madeleine’s children in summer. “Princess Leonore and Prince Nicolas will start school in Stockholm in the autumn. Princess Adrienne will attend pre-school,” the palace press release said.
It is not yet clear which schools the mini royals will go to, but they will grow up alongside their cousin Princess Estelle, 11, and her cousins and will certainly spend many beautiful summer days here. In winter, the little ones can then storm through the magical Christmas market, which is held annually in the stable.
Elaborate renovation of the luxury apartment
Between 2018 and 2019, Princess Madeleine is said to have extensively renovated her apartment, as the Swedish newspaper “Expressen” claims to have learned. It is said to have been expanded to seven rooms and is of a much higher standard than the other apartments in the building complex. There should be a bedroom, a dressing room, a laundry room, an ironing room and a bathroom. The renovation sum is said to be in the hundreds of thousands.
According to “Svenks Damtidning”, the kitchen is now made of Carrara marble, the kitchen appliances have been replaced with more exclusive ones and a wine fridge has been made. In addition, Madeleine is said to have had 42 closet doors installed. Her friend, interior designer Louise Thott, Princess Leonore’s godmother, is said to have overseen the second renovation project.
