Princess Maria Laura of Belgium: This is why she chose Brussels for her wedding

Maria Laura, 34, and William Isvy, 31, have lived in London for years. Nevertheless, they decided to go to Brussels to tie the knot. Her mother, Princess Astrid, now announces the TV station “VRT”: “It was important for Laura to get married in Brussels because she was born and grew up here. She loves her city.”

The civil wedding takes place in the morning in the town hall on the Großer Markt. Maria Laura’s parents, Princess Astrid and Prince Lorenz, 66, were also married here in 1984. According to the daily Het Laatste Nieuws, around 35 relatives will be attending the 30-minute ceremony, which will be held by the mayor in Dutch, French, German and English.

Maria Laura’s younger sisters Luisa and Laetitia are at her side as maids of honor – William has also commissioned his siblings. Of course, she is accompanied to the altar by her father, Prince Lorenz. Especially cute: her niece Anna Astrid, 6, and her nephew Maximilan, 2, (the children of her brother Amadeo) will be the flower children.

Is there a party after the official part?

After the vows, the bride and groom take their guests in the bridal car chosen by William to a private reception, where dinner is served and celebrated. A family photo will also be released.
