Princess Maria Laura: Royal fans discuss their wedding photos

On September 10, 2022, Princess Maria Laura stepped in front of the altar. A day later, the Belgian royal family published the official wedding photos of the happy couple. Beaming faces, but according to some royal fans, the couple did not stick to royal perfection in the recordings to commemorate the most beautiful day of their life. There are some surprising details that catch the eye: the faces of the wedding guests are covered, the long veil does not seem to have been plucked again and one or the other eyelids are at half-mast. No trace of royal representative discipline.

Royal fans are now discussing the alleged photo disaster with pointed mockery on the Internet. “The newlyweds should ask for their money back. These official photos are incredibly unflattering,” says a Twitter user. Another commented quite uncharmingly: “You better fire this photographer.” Maria Laura and her William, however, seem to be quite content with their photographic moments of memory that are far from perfect. Courage to leave gaps, one could say benevolently. And how nice it is to be able to look back on a day like this later with a hearty smile.

Princess Victoria is not allowed to attend the Queen’s funeral

More and more confirmations for Queen Elizabeth’s funeral on September 19 are pouring in. The Queen “passed away peacefully” on September 8 at Balmoral Castle at the age of 96, Buckingham Palace announced. The guest list of the historic funeral service reads top-class, the royal heads of state from Spain, Belgium, the Netherlands, Japan, Romania and even Tonga have confirmed their participation. But while Queen Margrethe of Denmark, 82, will be accompanied by the crown prince couple, only the royal couple from Norway and Sweden will take part.

Accordingly, Princess Victoria, 45, will also miss the celebrations. Court information secretary Ulrika Näsholm confirmed this to the Swedish magazine “Hänt”. It can be seen from the official calendar of the Swedish royal family that the crown princess does not have any public obligations on this day. However, Victoria’s absence has very practical reasons. The guest list for the funeral mainly includes only the heads of state accompanied by their partners, as capacity at Westminster Abbey is limited. Around 2,000 people fit into the cathedral, as the leading US political newspaper “Politico” has confirmed on the basis of official documents from the FCDO (British Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, i.e. the Ministry of Foreign Affairs).

The fact that an exception was made for the Danish queen is probably due to the fact that the prince consort Henrik, †83, had already died. And Dutch Princess Beatrix, 84, mother of King Willem-Alexander, 55, who is also allowed to come, is invited because of her former royal post as head of state.

Prince Albert and Princess Charlène hold hands at the appointment

Prince Albert, 64, and Princess Charlène, 44, are intimate, holding hands and lovingly kissing each other on the cheek. It’s quite obvious: With this project, their hearts are beating in the same beat again. On Monday, September 12th, the Monegasque princely couple came to Peille, France, to lay the foundation stone for the new animal shelter of the SPA (Société Protectorrice des Animaux).

On this occasion, Albert himself grabbed the trowel and mortar and set the first stone including the golden plaque. At the end there was a tender kiss on his wife’s cheek and a reserved smile for the photographers – hand in hand.

School of Prince Oscar and Princess Estelle is said to be struggling

Princess Victoria, 45, and Prince Daniel, 48, enrolled their children, Princess Estelle, 10, and Prince Oscar, 6, at the Manilla campus in Stockholm. Of course, this was linked to the hope that their offspring would have a safe environment there. But that’s what they’re supposed to be worried about now. The school is considered popular and has a long waiting list. Now several children should not feel “safe” there, as the tabloid “Expressen” reports. After reports of bullying and classroom chaos at the school had already emerged in 2018, the school authorities ordered that improvement measures should be implemented. The principal left the school.

The school environment improved, but now there are said to be new shortcomings. There is talk of clique formation, bad interactions with one another, insults and physical attacks. Several parents are said to have already withdrawn their children from school. However, the current rector assured the newspaper that, apart from a few situations, everything was working perfectly. Sometimes the students are unfriendly to each other, or someone disturbs the working atmosphere, it depends on their age and maturity. The school always works with foresight. Victoria and Daniel may feel reminded of the allegations. That’s where Prince Christian, 16, went until the summer of 2022, but after a TV documentary revealed instances of insults and assault, Prince Frederik, 54, and Princess Mary, 50, pulled him out of school. A decision that the Swedish heir to the throne probably does not want to make.
