Princess Maria Laura of Belgium has married her fiancé, William Isvy. For the registry office, the bride chose a modern, quite unconventional dress, which has its price. At a church wedding it can be a little more: the bride puts on a tight-fitting robe with a meter-long skirt.

A modern bride as written in books! Princess Maria Laura of Belgium, 34, and her fiance William Isvy, 31, said yes to each other on Saturday morning, September 10, 2022. In the company of 35 family members and friends, they exchanged vows in the town hall on the Großer Markt in the Belgian capital, Brussels. The bridal look is refreshingly unconventional. In the afternoon, the big church wedding takes place in the Cathedral of St. Michael and St. Gudula. The bride chooses a much more opulent look for this.

For the 30-minute civil ceremony, which was conducted by the mayor in Dutch, French, German and English, the bride chose a short off-white Gucci dress.

The slightly A-line cut dress has short sleeves. The drape on the front is particularly exciting, it almost looks a little pleated. Maria Laura keeps her accessories simple. White pumps with a golden buckle and block heels, also by Gucci, look practical, otherwise the 34-year-old only wears hanging earrings with pearls. The hair is in a high bun, and the make-up is rather natural.

More opulence in the church

Maria Laura then relies on the big performance for the church. She enters the cathedral in a tight-fitting dress with a deep, draped neckline, a tie at the waist and a slightly tapering skirt. A special highlight of her look is the detachable skirt, which is meters long and gives her a real wow appearance.

With a diamond-studded tiara and a lace veil, Maria Laura gives her bridal styling a pinch of romance.

Wedding guests let it rip fashionably

While the bride presents herself first in a cool and then elegant way, her guests rely on bang looks. Especially Princess Delphine. Prince Albert’s illegitimate daughter wears a bright red wrap dress with a deep neckline.

With a wide chain, she makes an additional statement, as well as with the white platform heels. Queen Mathilde, the bride’s aunt, also wears red – apparently not a no-go in royal circles.

Princess Astrid, the mother of the bride, shows herself in a completely unusual outfit. She wears many Gucci pieces, including a collaboration with outdoor label The North Face. The green feathers on both the hat and the sleeves of her jacket are real eye-catchers.
