Since Marius Borg Høiby has been linked to influencer Nora Haukland, Princess Mette-Marit’s son has been in the headlines. His sweetheart likes to cause a stir with revealing photos, party pictures and intimate insights into their relationship. In February, however, she was mostly absent from her social media profile. The Norwegian had disappeared with her prominent friend. But now she’s back – and she’s falling right back into old patterns.
It’s hard to imagine that Princess Mette-Marit, 49, would be delighted with the increased media presence of her eldest Marius Borg Høiby, 26. Her offspring has been making the front pages of the Norwegian tabloids for the past few months. The woman at his side has a large part in this new, not very royal-compliant presence: Nora Haukland, 26, is an influencer and likes to show her wild lifestyle. Your social media break with Prince Haakon’s stepson, 49, should have caused a sigh of relief at the Norwegian court. But now the Internet star is back and promptly shares private moments from her Barbados vacation with her loved one.

Nora posted on Instagram on March 30, 2023 a summary of their trip to the Caribbean. The long-planned trip to Oslo Gardermoen Airport started in mid-February. The star shot for Nora’s social media abstinence. “In Barbados I didn’t have a phone, but I had a video camera with me. So this is a vlog from a day in Barbados and really the most beautiful place I’ve ever visited!”, Nora explained her digital break – and enthuses: “First of all “For the first time in a long time I’ve felt life outside of social media. I’ve enjoyed every single day…reading books, diving, dancing and remembering how beautiful the world is.” How much she and her Marius enjoyed the time together can be clearly seen in the individual sequences of the video.
Apparently, the couple met friends in Barbados. At the beginning of the clip you can see Nora, Marius and another couple in an outdoor café in front of the wine shop “The GrapeVine”. A little bird has gathered under the table, patiently waiting for crumbs. The couples explore the area together, moving from an urban environment to a beautiful palm-lined beach in front of a bright blue sea. Marius carries a surfboard under an almost fully tattooed arm, then takes to the high waves of the Atlantic Ocean while Nora films. A puppy jumps up to Nora and gets cuddles.
However, it was not Nora’s dog Lukas, whom she introduced in loving words in an Instastory at the end of October 2022: “Lukas is my baby,” she commented on a photo of the fluffy little dog with light fur. “I understand him and he understands me. It’s always that simple. I couldn’t imagine life without a dog.”
Sun, beach and good food
Was it from excitement or exertion? A dripping wet Marius, also tattooed on his other arm and back, has settled on the sand next to Nora and is holding out a trembling hand. Nora expresses sympathy and scratches her sweetheart’s neck. Then they meet friends again at a restaurant that serves seafood, hummus, and crispy white bread. Mette-Marit’s first-born kisses his loved one into the camera, which Nora then beams into as well. Then the group, equipped with beer and bathing suits, descends into a cave with access to the sea. Standing in water up to her waist, Nora has her picture taken in a bikini. Later she spots a sea turtle in the turquoise water before the video ends with a cuddling moment between her and Marius.

He comments on the memories on Instagram with a red heart, which Nora responds to in the same way. The journey together seems to have strengthened the relationship between the two. It was only in January 2023 that Nora explained why she had held back with photos of her well-known partner in the weeks before. This was done at the request of Marius, who did not like being shown on social media, Nora explained at the time: “We also like that the relationship is a bit private,” Haukland was quoted as saying by “Dagbladet” at the time. A lip service that has apparently been revised in the meantime.
