Catherine, Princess of Wales, can be sure of the support of two families – her royal and her civil ones.

If everything goes according to plan, Catherine, Princess of Wales, 42, will have to stay in hospital until at least the end of next week following her abdominal surgery. She will probably not be able to fulfill her public obligations as a member of the British royal family until after Easter. Next to her husband Prince William, 41, Kate can rely primarily on her parents and siblings during this period, the Daily Mail claims to have learned.

Accordingly, Kate’s parents Carole, 68, and Michael Middleton, 74, as well as sister Pippa Matthews, 40, and James Middleton, 36, have already cleared their respective schedules in order to be able to support Kate and her children as best they can. In particular, the grandparents of George, 10, Charlotte, 8, and Louis, 5, are used to regularly looking after Kate and William’s three children. Since they live in Berkshire and therefore not far away, this would be an option now more than ever.

Meanwhile, Kate’s siblings Pippa and James would primarily prepare for the time after Kate’s return to Windsor Castle to support her in her further recovery. Until then, parents and siblings would of course visit them in the hospital as often as possible.

Prince William cares sacrificially

In this regard, Prince William has been relied on in the past few days, visiting his wife in the clinic several times. He has also already postponed various appointments. With regard to his children, it is important to him to continue to bring them to school in person in order to guarantee them as much normality as possible in their current everyday life without their mother.

Starting next week, this stress test for Prince William is likely to get even worse – then his father King Charles III, 75, will also have an operation. In contrast to the operation on Princess Kate, the exact type of operation was publicly announced: the monarch suffers from an enlarged prostate, his condition is “harmless” and a “short recovery period” is expected.
