There is hardly anything worse than fearing for the well-being of your own children. Catherine, Princess of Wales, knows this all too well and reports “nerve-wracking” moments with her offspring.

When it comes to her children, Catherine, Princess of Wales, 41, just a normal mother with love, worries, fears and everything that goes with it. Prince William’s wife, 41, proves this again at a public appointment at the Evelina London Children’s Hospital in London.

Catherine, Princess of Wales: “You’re always worried”

The mother of Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 8, and Prince Louis, 5, opened a new day clinic there on Tuesday, December 5, 2023 and showed her usual empathy towards the other parents. The inspection of the new rooms for preliminary examinations, the operating rooms and the recovery areas seem to bring back memories for the otherwise tough royal.

“As a parent, it’s always nerve-wracking; I’ve taken my kids to the hospital for different things,” she reveals, speaking to a family in a surgical prep room, according to Hello, adding: “You’re always worried, but we have a great team here.”

Kate is compassionate towards worried parents

Because of her own experiences as a mother of three children, the 41-year-old can understand even more what the parents of the little patients in the clinic are going through. In the recovery room, she meets four-year-old Saya Stephenson, who is recovering from a morning operation to remove excess skin from her ears. Kate lovingly hugs her mother, Miwa Stephenson, who admits that she was afraid, even though it was a relatively minor procedure. “It’s always a worry for parents. We have to keep a cool head. It’s so difficult,” says the Princess of Wales compassionately.

Catherine has been a patron of the Evelina London Clinic since 2018. “We put children, young people and families at the center of our work, and you especially feel that when you enter our new department,” says managing director Gubby Ayida. “It was lovely to have this recognized today by the Princess of Wales, who, through her work with the Royal Foundation Center for Early Childhood, knows how important a supportive and nurturing environment is for children.”
