Priscilla Presley wants to be buried as close to her ex-husband Elvis as possible. The thought of it is “great.”

Her marriage to the “King of Rock ‘n’ Roll” broke up 50 years ago. Nevertheless, Priscilla Presley (78) has a fervent wish: She wants to find her final resting place as close as possible to her famous ex-husband Elvis Presley (1935-1977).

She is sure: funeral will take place in Graceland

The 78-year-old revealed on the TV show “Piers Morgan Uncensored” how important it was to her that her final resting place would be in the meditation garden of the Graceland estate in Memphis: “That’s what I want and have always wanted.” Her feelings about a funeral close to Elvis are “great.” When the moderator asked if it would actually happen, she answered “yes.”

The whole thing has already been put in writing. As People reported, there is a corresponding clause in the settlement agreement with her granddaughter Riley Keough (34). Priscilla Presley’s grave should therefore not be located directly next to the cult singer. Under the agreement, which was formally approved by a judge on Monday, she will be buried as close to Elvis as possible without moving an existing gravesite. Elvis is currently buried between his father Vernon and his grandmother Minnie, while the final resting places of his daughter Lisa Marie (1968-2023) and her son Benjamin Keough (1992-2020) are on the other side of the garden by a fountain.

Priscilla Presley argued with her granddaughter over inheritance

Lisa Marie Presley was Elvis and Priscilla’s only child. She died suddenly at the age of 54 in January of this year. After that, the family had to rearrange itself – because Lisa Marie was the sole heir to the Elvis Presley estate. Because she changed her will in 2016 to benefit her children, Priscilla Presley filed a petition on the “authenticity and validity” of that change. However, Priscilla Presley and her granddaughter Riley Keough settled the family dispute and agreed in court that the young woman would become the sole administrator of the estate and act as trustee for her siblings, who were still minors.

Priscilla Presley receives a lump sum payment of $1 million and the promise that she can be buried at Graceland. The 78-year-old now has many words of praise about her granddaughter: “I think Riley will be great. She asked me a few things what I should do and we’ll talk about it.” She stressed, “I want to help her in Graceland. I mean, she also has her own career and is doing very well in her career. She’s so talented.” She continued: “I told her everything she needed to know about Graceland and Elvis – even more about Elvis.”

In recent years, Priscilla Presley has repeatedly emphasized that Elvis was the love of her life. She never married again after divorcing him. “I’ve never met anyone like him and I don’t think I ever will again,” she said now. “He had the biggest heart. He had a great sense of humor. He had a lot of love.”
