Priyanka Chopra opens up about persistent breakup rumors from husband Nick Jonas for the first time and explains why she actually changed her last name on social media.
Actress Priyanka Chopra, 39, knows her marriage to singer Nick Jonas, 29, has put her in the spotlight. Every post on social media is scrutinized and every word in interviews weighed up. Just recently when she changed her name on Instagram and Twitter and deleted the addition Jonas. As a result, wild speculation and separation rumors immediately circulated about this step.
Priyanka Chopra: ‘I feel so vulnerable on social media’
In an interview with “Vanity Fair” Priyanka explains her learned attitude towards social media and how the name change came about: “It’s a very vulnerable feeling to know that when I post a photo, people immediately zoom in and everything that is which is also behind me in this picture. People see everything and draw conclusions immediately,” Priyanka said. The Indian-born actress knows she’s become a lot more introverted over the course of her career. “I’m starting to protect myself a lot more because I’m realizing how much the entertainment business is taking from me. The name change is part of that. It’s exhausting constantly making sure you’re saying the right thing, doing the right thing, doing the right thing dress, don’t make a mistake, don’t stumble because the whole world will be watching.”
Family planning with Nick Jonas
Priyanka also revealed how she and Nick are planning their future together. The actress, who has often spoken of her desire to have children in the past, says starting a family is “a big part” of the couple’s future plans. When asked if she and Nick would be okay with slowing down their successful careers for a baby, Priyanka enthusiastically reveals that she’s definitely on board: “I’m totally fine with that. We’re both totally fine with that.”
As a pop star and part of the band “Jonas Brothers”, Nick Jonas also has experience with social media and reveals in an interview with “Entertainment Tonight” that it is not always easy to reconcile private life and public relations: “We know both that being in the public eye is something that comes with fame, but we’ve put real limits on our personal lives and privacy and have worked really hard to create that little safe haven for ourselves with our friends and family “.
