Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas recently surprisingly announced that they had become parents to a child. Several months earlier, the actress hinted that they were expecting a baby – but nobody took it seriously.
On January 21, 2022, Priyanka Chopra, 39, and her husband Nick Jonas, 29, wowed the world out of the blue with sweet news: They became parents to a child via a surrogate mother. Very few had expected that, after all, the couple waited until after the baby was born to make the announcement.
In fact, Priyanka made an announcement in advance – that and already in November 2021.

In the comedy special “Jonas Brothers Family Roast”, which has been available on Netflix since November 2021, Nick and his brothers Kevin, 34, and Joe Jonas, 32, are properly targeted by friends and other stars. Priyanka also has his say in the format and managed to scare her husband and skillfully disguise the real baby news as a joke.
“In case you don’t know, we’re the only couple who haven’t had children yet, so I’m really excited to make this announcement. Sorry babe,” she says in the Netflix special. Nick raises his eyebrows in shock, clearly worried about what his lover is going to say next. “Nick and I are expecting…” she continues, pausing dramatically as the audience hesitantly begins to cheer. But her sentence ended with the words: “… that we get drunk tonight and sleep in tomorrow!” With this punchline, the 39-year-old gets a few laughs – and nobody notices how much truth there is behind the joke.

The actress and the singer posted the same picture on their respective Instagram accounts. “We are thrilled to announce that we have welcomed a baby via surrogate,” the photo reads.
“We kindly ask you to respect this special time when we want to focus on our family. Thank you very much,” it continues. The couple was immediately showered with congratulations from their fans and prominent colleagues. Stars like Kate Bosworth, Mindy Kaling or Octavia Spencer left kind words and lots of heart emojis.
