Prize list of Valenciennes 2022: Dalva and Le Bleu du caftan awarded at the Festival 2 Cinéma!

After five days of competition comprising eight fiction feature films and seven documentaries, the Festival 2 Cinéma de Valenciennes ended with an awards ceremony celebrating the diversity of the selection. Verdict!

From September 23 to 28, Valenciennes made its cinema, bringing together film lovers, students and professionals around its eclectic program and its films from all walks of life. Eight fiction feature films, seven documentaries, prestigious masterclasses, anticipated previews, festival-goers were spoiled.

This Tuesday, September 27, the festivities ended with the traditional award ceremony, led by an enthusiastic jury. Chaired by Michèle Laroque and made up of Sabrina Ouazani, Marion Vernoux, Arthur Dupont, Florence Loiret-Caille, Gilles Porte, Romain Rousseau and Tomothée Robart, the Fictions Jury awarded its Grand Prix to Dalva, the first film by Emmanuelle Nicot, which also won over the very involved Student Jury. A special Revelation prize was awarded to the film’s young actress, Zelda Samson.

In line with the Grand Jury which crowned the two actors of Le Bleu du caftan, Lubna Azabal and Saleh Bakri, the Press Jury of the same category (and AlloCiné was one of them!) rewarded the film by Maryam Touzani, awarding it the Prize of Criticism.

On the documentary side, Bad Girls won the votes of the public and students, A Good Beginning won the Critics’ Prize, awarded by the press, while My Imaginary Country won the Grand Jury Prize, chaired by Claire Devers and composed by Michale Boganim, André Bonzel, Eric Caravaca and Pascal-Alex Vincent.
