It’s no secret among “Fast & Furious” fans: On the set of the upcoming “Fast X” there was a quarrel between superstar Vin Diesel and director Justin Lin, who was originally intended for the 10th part of the series. Lin then got out of the ongoing shooting – and caused the producing studio Universal millions in damage.
Fortunately, an adequate replacement was quickly found for “Fast & Furious 10” – and filmmaker Justin Lin, who has quit, has now found his next engagement. For Sony Pictures, Lin will produce manga and anime Adapt “One Punch Man” as a live-action film.
Scott Rosenberg and Jeff Pinkner, the authors of “Jumanji: The Next Level” and “Venom”, are also on board for the screenplay of the upcoming live-action adaptation. Filming is slated to begin later this year, with a theatrical release likely sometime in 2023 (via Deadline).
Actors for the upcoming “One Punch Man” film have not yet been decided – only bald man Vin Diesel is probably excluded for the leading role of the equally bald Saitama.

One Punch Man began as a manga in 2009 before being adapted into an anime in 2015. The first of two seasons so far is considered by connoisseurs to be one of the best anime seasons of all time.

The superhero satire “One Punch Man” revolves around Saitama, the strongest man in the world, who incapacitates his opponents with – it was to be expected – a single punch. His cyborg sidekick Genos is at his side – and Saitama himself usually comments on what is happening with dry humor and an expressionless face.
It remains to be seen whether the “One Punch Man” film adaptation will come close to the legendary anime template. Because those who know the genre are too painful to remember failed live-action adaptations such as “Ghost in the Shell” with Scarlett Johansson and “Death Note” from Netflix.
With action specialist and “Fast & Furious” director Justin Lin, the best possible staff seems to have been found to direct the “One Punch Man” film.
