Proceeds will be donated – BFI calendar shows the many faces of care

The pandemic has demanded a lot from people in the care and health sectors. In particular, the downsides of systemically relevant professions have rightly been on everyone’s lips in the past two years. But care is more than that: This is what the BFI Burgenland wanted to express together with the initiator Thomas Werchota in a non-profit calendar.

The shortage of staff in the care sector has become increasingly important in recent months. This is also noticeable in Burgenland. “Those who are currently completing their nursing assistant training at the BFI usually have a fixed job offer before they graduate,” reports BFI education manager Martina Meister. One of the future care assistants is 51-year-old Thomas Werchota, who, as a hobby photographer, has created a care calendar for 2022 together with the BFI and with funding from the ÖGB and the Chamber of Labor. “I wanted to make the beautiful sides visible in care. And the residents of the home are also grateful that they get a face and that they are seen, ”said Werchota. The total proceeds from the income from the BFI calendar will be donated to the Sterntalerhof children’s hospice.
