Process in Vienna – poker players placed mini mirrors on the table

A 44-year-old Ukrainian was accused of a tricky casino fraud in Vienna. In the end, the judge at the regional court lacked the evidence for a conviction. The Austria-wide house ban in the casino remains in place.

When challenged, they also found a card with a built-in mirror, which was also lying on the table. The suspicion: commercial fraud while playing poker using prepared cards, mobile phones and headphones. There the cell phone was evaluated by the police, which was not the case with the Ukrainian who is now accused in Vienna. “It’s all just assumptions, the police have no proof at all,” lawyer Nikolaus Rast rejects the allegations. After a short trial, the acquittal: “In extreme doubt, because you don’t just take a device like that to the casino,” says the judge when he sends the 44-year-old home.
