The scam was the same in at least two cases: The mechanic bought privately used cars with a high mileage over the Internet. Then the man prepared the vehicles. But in doing so he made use of illegal means. He is said to have manipulated the mileage significantly. A car that actually had over 300,000 kilometers on the clock, as the previous owner said, was resold by the 47-year-old with “only” 200,000 kilometers.
