Tchibo calls the “Bunny back” teething ring from its range. Specifically, it concerns the product with the article number 392615 / order number 117342. It has been sold by Tchibo since August 19, 2020.

According to the Federal Food Safety and Veterinary Office, nitrosamine NDEA, a genotoxic carcinogen, has been detected in the product. The measured amount of migration posed a health risk for children under 36 months. Tchibo Schweiz AG immediately withdrew the product in question from the sale and started a recall.

The FSVO recommends not using and disposing of the affected product. Affected customers can have the purchase price reimbursed by calling the free service number 0800 22 44 44.
