Project Dagger: without Take-Two, the developers announce bad news

People Can Fly has made a good reputation with Painkiller, Bulletstorm or by helping to develop Gears of Warbut for several years, the Polish studio is struggling. Outridersedited by Square Enixdid not work very well, the Project Gemini of the two studios was revised downwards, leading to layoffs.

In parallel, People Can Fly was developing Project Daggeran action and adventure game which was to be published by Take-Two Interactive. The latter finally dropped the matter but PCF still intended to continue development independently. Unfortunately, in a press release addressed to investors and unearthed by the analyst MauroNL3, People Can Fly announces the cessation of development of Project Dagger. The studio explains that this is “the result of the reanalysis of the development plans of the implemented projects”, in connection with unsatisfactory results on the commercial potential of the project. PCF now expects difficult financial results with a drop of $16.9 million for the year 2023.

People Can Fly has not yet announced any layoffs, but between the current situation and this failure, it seems inevitable. Let’s now hope that the Project Gemini edited by Square Enix still achieves some success. You can find Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition from €3.49 on Amazon, Fnac And Gamesplanet.
