According to this video, Sony’s future Project Q console would run… on Android.

This extension of the PS5 could be marketed next November.

The Sony Project Q already in nature?

Last May, as part of one of its now famous “PlayStation Showcase”, Sony Interactive Entertainment formalized the availability at the end of the year of a new machine. No (yet) PS5 Slim (or Pro) on the menu, but a new mobile machine, codenamed Project Q.

It is not a question of any descendant of the PSP and PS Vita, but rather of a machine articulated around the game in streaming, through the remote play function of the PS5. While we are still waiting for the final name of the machine, its price and its availability date, the Project Q caused a stir this weekend on the networks.

An unexpected… and disappointing Android OS?

In fact, the account Zuby Tech released a first video of what Sony’s future nomadic machine would be. The video allows you to discover the future Project Q in action, which has an atypical design, with the two parts of a DualSense controller grafted on either side of an 8-inch screen.

But what caught the attention here is the operating system that would be used by Sony, namely… an Android OS. No PlayStation OS therefore, but a mobile OS signed Google, both free and open source, which would allow the Japanese giant to focus on the integration of its services.

Still, many observers quickly expressed their skepticism vis-à-vis this leak, some denouncing ” a counterfeit of Chinese origin “, or even an unfinished prototype, very different (software side) from the version to come.

Remember that like a Logitech G Cloud (to name a few), Sony’s future console will not allow you to play games natively, but will work as an extension of the PS5. Convenient therefore to play remotely, when the TV in the living room is already in use. Case to follow.
