Another argument put forward by Carl Pei regarding folding smartphones this time addresses the design. According to the founder of Nothing, all devices tend to look the same, with minor evolutions from one generation to another:
It’s good that some people make them, but if you look at the evolution of folding smartphones, they’re all the same. If you don’t see the logo anymore, you hide it on folding smartphones, I don’t think consumers are able to tell them apart.
For all these reasons, Carl Pei indicates that Nothing is not interested in the idea of launching a folding smartphone… at least not in the near future. Asked whether the British brand nevertheless intended to enter this market, the manager was satisfied with the answer: “not soon“.
