FDP faction leader insists on rapid reduction of bureaucracy

It is a promise that the FDP always makes at elections: Less bureaucracy, less paperwork. For companies, this should be implemented quickly. At least that’s what FDP parliamentary group leader Christian Dürr wants. He also addresses this to the Minister of Justice.

FDP parliamentary group leader Christian Dürr is pushing the pace with plans to relieve the economy of bureaucracy. Dürr told the German Press Agency in Berlin that he wanted to suggest to his coalition partners in the Bundestag that they discuss it quickly. “The common goal of the coalition must be: Regulate less, enable more,” emphasized Dürr. The proposals are on the table.

After the parliamentary summer break, Justice Minister Marco Buschmann’s plans to cut bureaucracy should be launched in order to strengthen the country’s competitiveness. The same applies to Finance Minister Christian Lindner’s Growth Opportunities Act. This provides for a whole series of tax policy measures to relieve the economy.

“Reversal in the burden of bureaucracy” necessary

The economy needs two things, relief and bureaucracy reduction, said Dürr. “Our companies don’t want to deal with paperwork and complicated application procedures, they want to pursue their core tasks and invest.” The framework conditions would have to be improved for this.

Buschmann had spoken of the need for a “turnaround in the burden of bureaucracy” for the economy. “My impression is that part of the German economy is really suffering from bureaucracy burnout,” said Buschmann. The Minister of Justice wants to counteract this with the planned bureaucracy relief law. The key points for this are to be decided at a cabinet meeting at the end of August. “I’m in good spirits that we can do something substantial there,” said Buschmann.
