In a dark, narrow, underground world with endless tunnels and shafts, people have to wear protective suits and lead humble, hard, yet happy lives. The princess of the underground community, Patema, goes on a voyage of discovery as always, always driven by her curiosity about the unknown depths of the world.

It’s mid-December. SOS Brigade Chief Haruhi Suzumiya announces that there will be a Christmas party with Japanese stew dinner in the club room. Brigade members Kyon, Yuki Nagato, Mikuru Asahina, and Itsuki Koizumi start preparing for the party. Of course, costumes and decorations are particularly important.
