PS PLUS

  • Sony is gradually releasing the new subscription model for PS Plus.
  • With Premium you get access to old PS1 classics, among other things.
  • In Europe but possibly only with 50 Hz and 25 FPS.

PS Plus Premium will be the name of one of the new subscriptions with which you can play old PS1 classics on your PS5 or PS4, among other things.

Sony has already released the revised version of PS Plus in Southeast Asia and Japan, but apparently there are problems with the Southeast Asian version that are also blooming in Europe.

In this region, PS1 games based on the PAL standard have been released via PS Plus, which, however, only run at 50 Hertz and 25 FPS (frame rate), which means that the picture appears jerky, as reported by Polygon.

However, the Japanese games in the NTSC version work smoothly at 60 Hertz, but that will probably not be available here, because at that time only the PAL versions were equipped with a German translation.

Regardless of which game versions of the PS1 classics you get, PS Plus will continue to offer the advantage of free games for PS4 and PS5 even after the switch.

Sony will unlock the new PS Plus subscriptions on June 23, 2022.
