PS4, PS5: Sony launches a site dedicated to its PC ports and answers many questions

Sony has just put a new page on its entire PlayStation site dedicated to its PC ports. It includes all the games already available on Steam and the Epic Games Store, as well as upcoming titles. The manufacturer also answers several questions, in particular about PSN and backup transfers.

Recently, Sony has invested in the PC gaming market by carrying out several ports of its flagship titles. Horizon Zero Dawn led the way and was followed by other great games that were once exclusive to PS4 and PS5, like God of War. A strategy that pays off for the Japanese firm: reviews are excellent and players are more than happy to find these cult games on other platforms.

Building on this success, Sony intends to continue on this path by announcing in particular that 50% of its games will be available on PC and smartphones by 2030. In addition, several Internet users have spotted the launch of a page dedicated to ports on the official PlayStation website. On the latter, the manufacturer lists the games already available on PC, namely God of War and Horizon Zero Dawn, but also Day’s Gone, Predator Hunting Grounds and Helldrivers.

Will I need a PSN account to play PlayStation games on PC?

Sony also discusses upcoming ports, including Marvel’s Spider-Man out this week and its spin-off Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, as well as the Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves collection. Finally, the builder adds an FAQ section that answers several questions that have been pending for some time. Also, it’s worth noting that some answers are final while others are allowed more wiggle room.

On the same subject – PlayStation Plus: Sony has not said everything, more than 100 games are inaccessible on the PC application

For example, Sony is very clear on the question of trophies: these will not be synchronized between the PS4/PS5 and the PC. Others, on the other hand, are more vague, like the question of the need for a PSN account. The firm indeed explains that it is not ” for the moment ” not required to have a PSN account to play the PC ports, which indicates that this may be the case in the future.

Likewise, it is not possible ” for the moment “ to transfer his backups from his PS4 and/or PS5 to his PC. So hopefully that will be the case in the near future.
