PS5 Slim: a totally crazy Japanese advertisement with King Gnu

This end of 2023 is busy for the brand PlayStation, with the launch of several hardware products. We have the PlayStation Portal streaming device on one side and the PlayStation 5 Slim on the other, without forgetting the wireless headset Pulse Elite. If the players following the news closely are more or less aware of all this, nothing beats an advertising campaign to get people talking and those of Sony Interactive Entertainment are particularly original. At the beginning of the month, we were entitled to an advert live-action highlighting the sensations felt while playing on PS5, which is even broadcast in cinemas from what we have seen. In Japanit is used to promote the new “slim” model and if we are talking to you about the land of the Rising Sun, it is because a very strange advertising spot was put online this ThursdaySee for yourself :

Four colorful characters, it goes without saying, representing the symbols PlayStationstand up in front of a gigantic creature that we would think has come out of Hell and are manhandled before merging into a gigantic mecha to “exceed their limits”. It’s crazy and doesn’t lack small, more or less direct references to well-known video game worlds. It’s hard not to think about Night City seeing this futuristic city in the distance for example.

But this marketing campaign goes much further than these few seconds, as reported by PlayStation Blog Japanese. Already, the four characters in the video are played by members of King Gnuwho specially composed the song Asura for the occasion as part of his new album The Greatest Unknown. The group is popular at the moment, because SPECIALZ serves asopening at the Shibuya arch of Jujutsu Kaisen. You only have to see the clip to understand why this campaign is so offbeat. Then, know that in addition to being shown on TV in the country, different illustrations will be able to be seen by the public in 20 different locations in the districts of Harajuku and Shibuya until December 3 and on the screen Hit Vision from Shibuya Station. PlayStation is therefore pulling out all the stops in the Japanese capital to attract the public eye. You can find different visuals to see this on the next page.

If you’re looking for a classic PS5, packs with Final Fantasy XVI Or Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 are still available at Cdiscount at €499.00.
