In beta since the end of July, a software update of the PS5 incorporates much-requested enhancements like 1440p HDMI support.

Many features are also there, such as game lists, voice control on YouTube or several additions to the social part of Sony’s next-generation console.

A long beta phase that is coming to an end

Particularly awaited since the release of the PS5, support for 1440p HDMI is finally deployed. To take advantage of it, you will of course need to have a television or a PC screen that itself supports 1440p at 60 Hz or 120 Hz. The games must also be compatible.

Another expected element is the list of games so that you can store your collection in folders to make it more digestible. Now up to 15 lists can be created, each with up to 100 games.

Other small quality-of-life additions include the ability to compare 3D sound and stereo sound on the same screen as well as easier access to the progress of Activities for each game. The console’s YouTube app also swells with the ability to search by voice command.

To complete the overview of this update, various social features are coming to the PS App. We can notably cite the possibility of launching a Remote Play session from the application, or of requesting a screen sharing on his mobile device from a friend in a discussion group. Joining friends in a discussion group is also facilitated by a notification. Finally, the profile of your friends will gain in ergonomics.
