PS5: The second beta version of the console’s system software arrives today

Since its launch, the PS5 did not get a lot of big updates, at least apart from the one allowing the addition of SSD for the console. It seems that the next major update of the machine is however on the way, since Sony has just put the beta of the latter online, which is available today for certain users, and which is also accompanied by an update on PS4 , also in beta.

What’s new in the next PS5 update?

With the arrival of this update, for the moment only available in its beta versionwe discover the arrival of new Party chat options, including the possibility of having open or closed Parties of your choice, both on PS4 and on PS5.

We also note an update to the voice chat reporting feature on PS5to better locate the user whose behavior you want to report. Shared play will be simplified on PS5, and can be launched directly via the voice chat menu without going through screen sharing. Finally, on PS4, the voice chat sound can now be recalibrated on each participant.

On PS5, the Game Base is improving also with the setting up of the Friends, Parties and Messages sub-menus. Still on Sony’s latest console, we can now use filters by genre to consult our library, and modify the games displayed in the screen ofhomepage (up to 5), rather than displaying the last games launched.

It will also be noted that in English-speaking countries that can participate in this beta, a voice command has been implemented. You can then control your console after saying “Hey PlayStation”, and launch games or perform other actions in this way. This feature may not be available in all countries.

This update will be available to everyone later this year, with no further details at this time. You can find more details on the PlayStation Blog.
