Whereas Sony Interactive Entertainment launched a version 22.02-06.00.01 of the system software of his PlayStation 5, he is already deploying a new one. It is numbered 22.02-06.00.02 and, officially, it only comes to deal with stability problems.

Manually update PS5 system software
- From a PC or Mac, create a folder named “PS5” at the root of a FAT32 formatted USB drive. In this folder, create an “UPDATE” subfolder.
- Download the update file and save it in the “UPDATE” folder. Save the file as “PS5UPDATE.PUP”.
- Plug the USB device containing the file into your PS5 console.
- Start the PS5 console in Safe Mode: press and hold the power key, then release it when you hear the second beep.
- Select Safe Mode option 3: Update system software.
- Select Update from USB storage device > OK.
