Sony is preparing a new firmware update for the PS5 and is inviting fans to a beta version where they can try out practical functions.

The beta version of an upcoming operating system update for the PS5 is now starting in selected countries, including Germany.
Sony is also already revealing the features that beta users can try out before they become available to all PlayStation fans at an as yet unknown date.
In the future, the controller speakers will generate a higher volume and noise suppression has been optimized using artificial intelligence. This means that background noise, such as that of pressing keys, is filtered better, so that the audio quality of the voice chat comes into its own better. Of course, the controller microphone must be switched on for this.
PS5 users can also adjust the brightness of the power indicator light by selecting the desired setting under “Beep and light”.
Anyone watching someone else play and watching the shared screen in full screen can also send pings, emoji, or draw lines on the screen. However, host and guest must both participate in the beta to use these features.
