After a half-hearted first part of the season, Paris Saint-Germain intends to take advantage of the winter transfer window, which opens in five days, to strengthen itself. Still involved in the Champions League, where it will challenge Real Sociedad in the round of 16, and leader of Ligue 1, the capital club is preparing to welcome two young Brazilians, with a view to filling its squad.

First the defender Lucas Beraldo, 20 years old, who could join France as soon as the transfer market opens, according to the daily The Team. Nicknamed “the Joker” because of the smile he constantly wears, the left-hander replaces the injured Presnel Kimpembe until the end of the season. He should be accompanied by a compatriot Gabriel Moscardo, even younger since he is only 18 years old. The Corinthians midfielder still attends the University of Sao Paulo. Two profiles that are certainly promising, but which could lack maturity, according to Europe 1 Sport consultant, Alain Giresse.

“We need players who are a little more mature”

“There is youth, lack of knowledge, adaptation to the continent. It will take them a little time. They are perhaps players in the making with great talent, but at PSG, we don’t talk about future, we’re talking about the present moment. We need players who are a little more mature, who have a good command of their subject, who have knowledge of the Champions League, who are assertive. But it’s difficult to find in a transfer window “winter, because these players are already stuck in clubs which are not going to release them”, assures the ex-French international.

Two Brazilians who will, moreover, cost PSG dearly since their value is estimated at 20 million euros each. Two players who also risk starting their Parisian adventure on the bench, notably during the round of 16 of the Champions League in February.
