PSG press conference: the sand yachting federation responds to Christophe Galtier

The Paris Saint-Germain coach has been in turmoil since his joke at a press conference on Monday. He had laughed at a question from a journalist about his team’s use of a jet to get to Nantes and ironically referred to the use of a sand yacht to get around. Always with humor, the president of the French sand yachting federation decided to answer him.

A joke that offended the public and several political figures but which made the main concerned smile. The French sand yachting federation, quoted in Christophe Galtier’s bad joke during the PSG press conference, wanted to respond positively to the coach’s false request. He had mentioned the fact of using sand yachts rather than a private jet to make the movements of the players of the Parisian football club less polluting. It is now possible, according to the president of the French sand yachting federation, Christophe Roger.

“It only takes nine hours, a well-oriented and constant wind”

“Following the message from Christophe Galtier, the coach of the PSG, I have the pleasure of announcing to him that the French sand yachting federation confirms to him that we can go to Nantes, from Paris to Nantes, in a sand yacht. It takes just nine hours, a well-oriented and constant wind. It really costs less since for a sum of 100 to 150 euros, you can go there in a sand yacht and indeed with a carbon footprint equal to zero”, he reacted, not without hiding his amusement.

“More seriously, if the PSG team – starting with Kylian Mbappé – wishes to come and do sand yachting, the French Federation of sand yachting will have the pleasure of inviting them and they will be able to discover our discipline which is sand yachting”, concluded Christophe Roger. If the president of the sand yachting federation has decided to take this controversy with a smile, other personalities are laughing out loud: the Minister of the Economy, Bruno Le Maire and the Minister of Sports, Amélie Oudéa-Castéra, have indignant at the coach’s response.
