PSG-Real Madrid, round of 16 first leg of the Champions League, will be refereed on Tuesday by Italy’s Daniele Orsato.
It’s not really a gift that UEFA gave to the Parisians. The latter have already crossed paths with this referee who notably led the 2020 Champions League final lost to Bayern Munich (0-1).
But that’s not all. Daniele Orsato also officiated in the round of 16 first leg of C1 against Manchester United in February 2019 (2-0). He was also on the whistle in the quarter-final return between PSG and Bayern Munich in April 2021 (0-1).
Finally, more recently, the Italian refereed the group stage match between the Parisians and Manchester City (1-2) at the Etihad Stadium last November.
