PSG: what Kylian Mbappé’s huge salary will bring… to the State


DECRYPTION – By signing a huge contract with PSG, Kylian Mbappé has also made the state happy.

A jackpot is shared. According to our colleagues from Parisian, Kylian Mbappé signed the biggest contract in the history of sport, when he was extended at Paris Saint-Germain last May. The highest number? 630 M €, or Mbappé’s gross remuneration by combining salaries and bonuses, and if he decides to exercise the one-year option which would keep him at PSG until 2025.

But in reality, Mbappé receives much less than these 630 M€, details The Parisian . The 23-year-old striker receives, on average, a gross salary of €210m/year. It is first necessary to withdraw 25 M€ (approximately 12%) which goes in the employee contributions. This leaves Mbappé €185m net before tax, deducted at source. Which would still make the Parisian one of the biggest taxpayers in France.

Due to the colossal amount, Mbappé is taxed at 49% (including 4% linked to the exceptional contribution on high incomes). It is therefore nearly 90 M€ recovered by the State, leaving Mbappé 95 M€ on average per year…
