PSVR 2 TEST: DOBE Support and Charging Station, the essential accessory for your PlayStation VR 2

We discovered the support and charging station PSVR 2 of the brand DOBE away from the group Facebook PSVR 2 France and after reading the glowing comments, we contacted the seller to have the product tested. It therefore allows you to put your helmet on and above all to charge the PlayStation VR 2 Sense without having to wire them. It’s now been a week since we installed it and we can now give you our opinion on this accessory.

Orderable on Amazon, delivery was fast and smooth. Upon receipt, the box is compact and plays with the brand’s color codes playstation, i.e. white and blue. A logo recalls that the design is registered and another that the brand has existed since 1999. Small subtlety, the corner “For PS VR2” instead of “For PSVR 2” which suggests that this is not a licensed product. In the box, there are the different parts to be assembled to compose the support, the two magnetic adapters for the PSVR 2Sense and a USB Type-C cable for power.

DOBE PSVR2 14 Stand and Charging StationThe assembly is done in a minute without having to read the instructions and the appearance of the whole is aesthetically successful. The two magnetic adapters slide into the USB Type-C port of the PSVR 2Sensethe cable on the back connects to a USB port on the PlayStation 5 or better to an AC adapter (not included). The tray that accommodates the helmet has a slot at the back that allows you to put it down without hesitation in addition to keeping it in place. On the controller side, their two slots accommodate them perfectly and offer fast charging. The connection is made without any other manipulation than depositing them. The current passes through the USB Type-C magnetic adapters and it works perfectly. In addition, and this is really very appreciable, there is no need to be precise in its deposit, the design and the magnetization doing their job very well, that is to put the levers in the right place. The charge level is not precisely monitored, too bad, but once the batteries are full, the indicator turns blue. The controllers are stored in such a way that they can be taken directly, without having to think. Casually, it’s a little extra that saves a little time for those who, like us, regularly hesitate a few seconds before being able to decide how to catch them.

In the end, this brand charging and support station DOBE (pronounced “Dobi”) won us over with its design and ease of use. The rear slot means you don’t have to hesitate about putting your helmet on, the whole thing is very stable, the placement of the controllers is done without having to fumble around and finally the charge is very fast, as long as you use a charger and not the console’s USB port. To be fussy, we would have liked a marker of the level of charge and not a simple display indicating its end, but that does not change the fact that this accessory is a must for those with a PlayStation VR 2.
