Are half-children’s threats of shooting actually a cry for help because they can’t deal with their aggression? At least this is the opinion of the Wilheringer psychologist and psychotherapist Barnabas Strutz, who commented on the current case in the Mühlviertel.

“Krone” readers were the first to know: A 13-year-old is – as we reported – suspected of having threatened to go on a killing spree in a chat on TikTok. Investigations are still ongoingThe investigations are still ongoing, but there is of course a suspicion that the young person could have set up the TikTok account of an adult from Linz on his cell phone and then used it himself without permission.Aggressive childrenBut why do half of the children threaten to go on rampages? After all, this was the third time this year in Upper Austria, and there were also similar police operations in Steyr and Garsten. Psychologist Barnabas Strutz on the motivation of the perpetrators: “On the one hand, every young person has a cell phone today and therefore full access to all social media, On the other hand, many in this age group have a lot of frustration – and this can be easily relieved by using their smartphone. But the police must take every threat seriously. If children become so aggressive, please take them seriously and arrange for therapy!”
