PUBG is gaining around 80,000 new players a day since its free-to-play move – PUBG

If PUBG is one of the most popular royal battles in the world, it was the only one, until the beginning of 2022, to be paid, since Fortnite and Apex Legends are free-to-play. To face the competition and try to revive the machine, the developers, Krafton, have chosen to switch PUBG to free-to-playa decision that was the right one, given that the feedback is more than positive.

Indeed, as Krafton has taught us, since January and PUBG being free, the battle royale has been gaining around 80,000 new users per day, all platforms combined. Although not all of them are sticking with the battle royale, probably not enticed by the experience, which is intended to be more realistic and therefore with slower gameplay than its competitors, the company is pleased to see that PUBG is still attracting. Above all, this means that players continue to spend, and they do so even more than before, with a 20% higher average revenue per user.

To maintain this popularity, but also try to attract more players, the developers are focusing more on anti-cheating, so that it performs better. Finally, like Fortnite, a first major crossover has arrived, with Assassin’s Creed, perhaps giving way to other major partnerships in the future.

In the meantime, we remind you that PUBG is available for free on PC, PlayStation and Xbox, but does not offer cross-play.
