PUBG: Update 20.2, update details – PUBG

The players of PUBG still benefit from more or less regular updates, although the content introduced is slightly less substantial than before. Anyway, in this month of November, the battle royale welcomes a new update, mainly aimed at making some corrections and balancing. The appearance rate of vehicles has, for example, been reviewed, while the collaboration with Neymar is becoming clearer. It will, for example, be possible to see advertising decorations bearing his effigy, or special supply boxes.

GAMEPLAY

BALANCING VEHICLE APPEARANCES IN NORMAL MATCHES

Vehicle spawns have been adjusted in Erangel and Miramar for normal matches.

• Angel
  • UAZ: approximately 20% increase.
  • Dacia: increase of around 26%.
  • AquaRail: reduction of approximately 22%.
  • Buggy: approximately 11% decrease.
  • Boat: reduction of approximately 23%.
• Miramar
  • Pickup: increase of approximately 8%.
  • Mirado: increase of approximately 18%.

DEVELOPER COMMENT

Based on player feedback about vehicle spawns on large maps like Erangel and Miramar, we’ve increased the spawn rate for vehicles that are more or less hard to find.

VEHICLE SKIN

• Removed the special effect when equipping vehicle skins.
  • Pressing the Limited Interaction button will immediately equip vehicle skins.

DEVELOPER COMMENT

We have decided to remove the special effect functionality when equipping vehicle skins. Since the update of the vehicle skin system in version 19.2, we received feedback that the special effect could cause several disadvantages during the game.

RADIO MESSAGE

• Added option to assign keys for radio messages related to inventory to settings.

DEVELOPER COMMENT

The option that was missing in the settings since the previous update has been added in this one. You can customize your keys in SETTINGS → KEY ASSIGNMENT.

FOLDABLE SHIELD

Several improvements based on player feedback have been made to the Collapsible Shield.

MULTI-REFUELING BOXES

• Decreased the number of small supply crates when dropping multi-supply crates in Taego.
  • CURRENTLY : Min. 5 / Max. 15
  • AFTER THE UPDATE : Min. 5 / Max. 10

DEVELOPER COMMENT

Multi-Crate Supply Drops in Taego provide a variety of powerful items, but we’ve also noticed that teams getting these supplies are at an advantage throughout the game. Therefore, we decided to reduce the maximum possible number of Small Supply Crates. Item types and quantities will not change.

WORLD

COLLABORATION WITH NEYMAR JR.

Collaborative items, such as billboards, building decorations, soccer balls, and supply crates featuring Neymar Jr., have been added to all maps.

TUTORIAL – BASIC TRAINING

• Improved key guide UI for each mission.
• Added a pop-up related to AI Training Match at the end of Basic Training.
• Rearranged the order and content of pop-up windows.

USER INTERFACE/USER EXPERIENCE

LOBBY DESIGN

• Updated the design of lower lobby pane buttons to clarify their different states.
• Updated the news/events page and added a navigation menu to the top of the screen.

• (PC) Added escape key icon to fullscreen pages.

SETTINGS

• Added item menu to settings.
• Decrease in the number of options displayed on a single page.
• Your options can be applied even after switching to another tab.
• Improved UI layout

WORKSHOP

• New item sets have been added to the Hunter’s Chest and the Librarian’s Chest.
  • Survivor Pass: Galaxy Squad
• Two new item sets have been added to the Special Crafting feature.

PERFORMANCE

• Improvements to client performance and decreased stutter by changing vehicle simulations to work on the server side. However, with this update, vehicles moving a certain distance away may not display correctly.
