The day after the murder of a 43-year-old tax officer in Pas-de-Calais, the Arras public prosecutor spoke on Tuesday, citing the trail of a “premeditated act”. According to the first elements of the investigation, “clamps” were found at the scene of the tragedy.

The man who killed a tax inspector and tied up his colleague in Bullecourt, a small village in Pas-de-Calais on Monday, had he planned everything? It is in any case the track raised this Tuesday by Sylvain Barbier Sainte-Marie the public prosecutor of Arras who evokes a “premeditated act”. During a speech, he noted in particular that “the respondent knew that he was going to receive these inspectors” since an appointment had been made beforehand.

The magistrate then emphasizes another rather disturbing detail which accredits the thesis of premeditation. The first elements of the investigation revealed the presence of clamps with which the two victims were attached. This tool generally makes it possible to operate a pressure on a joint to guarantee its tightness.

An open investigation for counts of assassination and kidnapping

According to Sylvain Barbier Sainte-Marie, the object “had probably been bought before the facts knowing that (the suspect) knew that the meeting took place yesterday (Monday) at 2 p.m.”. Data that will naturally have to be “corroborated by other elements”.

This Monday, when they arrived on the scene, the police first discovered the inspector tied up but alive before finding the lifeless body of her colleague, aged 43, the body larding with wounds on the back. ‘abdomen. This Tuesday, the public prosecutor of Arras also confirmed that the man had died “of several stab wounds to the back and chest”. The alleged perpetrator killed himself in the process.

An investigation was immediately opened for counts of assassination and kidnapping. Gabriel Attal, the Minister of Public Accounts, indicated that a tribute would be paid to the inspector in all of the departmental tax services.
