Publicis: 2023 organic growth amounts to +6.3%, above the anticipated range

(Boursier.com) — The Group Publicis today publishes in advance its net income for the fourth quarter and full year 2023. All audited results for 2023 will be published on February 8, 2024 before the opening of the stock market.

Organic growth for 2023 amounts to +6.3% with net income of €13.099 billion, above the target range of +5.5% to +6% which was revised upwards last October.
The fourth quarter thus came out above expectations with organic growth of +5.7% to €3.540 billion.

The Media activity, which represents a third of net revenue, recorded double-digit organic growth for the year 2023, with an acceleration in the fourth quarter driven by faster growth in the contribution of New Business. Data and Tech activities, also a third of net income, posted very solid annual performance despite contrasting trends. Epsilon’s performance shows organic growth of around +10% in 2023 – accelerating in the second half, including double-digit growth in Q4 benefiting from increased customer demand for proprietary data management.
As anticipated and like the main Consulting players, Publicis Sapient’s activity reflects delays in digital transformation projects, and thus records organic growth of +3% in 2023 despite a slight decline in the fourth quarter.
Creative activities once again prove their resilience, with low-single digit organic growth both in the fourth quarter and for the year 2023.

By geography, the strength of the model is visible in all regions, both in the fourth quarter and for the whole of 2023:

Activities in the United States, which represent 60% of net income, recorded remarkable organic growth of +5% for the year, after accelerating to +6.1% in the fourth quarter. Europe grows by +10.3% organically in 2023, with a fourth quarter showing organic growth of +4.3% despite a high comparison base, particularly in the United Kingdom. Organic growth in Asia stood at +2.9% over the year after accelerating to +4% in the fourth quarter, driven by the return of performance in China to positive territory. The Africa and Middle East region grew by +12.4% organically over the year and by +9.7% in the fourth quarter. Latin America grew by +8.9% on an organic basis over the year and by +13.9% in the fourth quarter.
