  • Hooray, hooray, the red-haired goblin! Hooray, hooray, Pumuckl is here (again)!
  • The cult series from the eighties about the carpenter and the cheeky goblin will be continued by RTL at the end of 2023.
  • RTL offers the audience two versions in which Pumuckl either gets a new speaker or is dubbed by his former (and already deceased) voice Hans Clarin.

In the 1980s, “Meister Eder and his Pumuckl” inspired a young television audience and even years after the end of the series, the goblin with the red hair was known throughout the country. In 2003, one last Pumuckl film was released with “Pumuckl and his circus adventure”. At that time, Meister Eder actor Gustl Bayrhammer had been dead for 10 years, but was never cast again.

In 2005 Pumuckl’s former spokesman Hans Clarin died and since then it has been quiet about Pumuckl – until now! In the new series “New Stories from Pumuckl”, RTL brings back the goblin and lets him meet Master Eder’s nephew Florian, who is taking over his uncle’s old carpentry shop.

Florian Eder is played by Florian Brückner and as Pumuckl we hear… Hans Clarin? In fact, RTL brings back Clarin, who died 18 years ago, with the help of artificial intelligence. However, viewers who watch the series on RTL+, which will be released at the end of 2023, will be able to choose between two Pumuckl versions.

The cabaret artist Maximilian Schafroth “played” the role of Pumuckl for “New Stories from Pumuckl”, his movements served as a template for the cartoon goblin. Schafroth will also be heard as Pumuckl if you opt out of Hans Clarin’s AI dubbing.

The series should not only be shown on RTL +, RTL and Super RTL will also show “New Stories from Pumuckl”. The production will celebrate its premiere on June 24, 2023 at the Children’s Film Festival in Munich.
