Putin shows no desire to end war in Ukraine, says Elyse

PARIS (Reuters) – Emmanuel Macron and Olaf Scholz’s meeting on Saturday with Vladimir Putin did not reveal the Russian president’s desire to end the war in Ukraine, reported the Elyse, which made status of a “difficult conversation”.

The French President and the German Chancellor have made it clear to Vladimir Putin that the abuses must stop in Ukraine, said the Elyse, according to whom the situation is notably “desperate” and “humanly unsustainable” Mariupol, a city in the south-east of the Ukraine besieged by the Russian weapon.

The objective of France and its partners is to obtain “a ceasefire as quickly as possible” and Emmanuel Macron intends to use all the diplomatic instruments at his disposal to achieve this, said the Elyse.
