The new range of Sony televisions for the year 2022 is about to be released, and the manufacturer offers plenty of choice. In total, four different screen technologies make up this range, including a highly anticipated novelty. QD-OLED: the feat of an even better OLED display
For several years now, OLED televisions have positioned themselves as the best models available on the market. Mini LED: the new generation of LED TV
Historical technology of our flat screens, LED backlighting has already evolved a lot. Previously confined to the edge of televisions, it now takes place behind the entire slab. This is the Full Array LED technology of Sony televisions, which notably offers excellent light peaks.
Recently, the LED backlight began a transition to the Mini LED. The operation is the same, except that the LEDs used are much smaller, and therefore more numerous. In effect, this results in better contrast ratios, even higher brightness, and more accurate colors. the blooming is also reduced compared to conventional LED TVs, without doing better than OLED.
The 2022 range of Sony TVs
Although screen and backlight technologies differ, Sony’s new televisions share many commonalities. Positioned as very high-end models, they benefit from the most important features expected of an excellent 2022 television. We find in particular:
- 4K screens with a refresh rate of 120 Hz and HDMI 2.1 ports to take full advantage of the new game consoles;
