The French music service Qobuz is particularly popular with hi-fi fans. The provider has been on the market since 2007 and wants to score points with high-quality music. Before services like Apple Music or Deezer introduced it, Qobuz had already had high-res audio and the best quality.

Various streaming services now offer uncompressed or high-resolution audio content, but the French offer even more. Qobuz has its own HiFi magazine with news, interviews and test reports. If desired, music lovers can also forego the streaming offer completely and buy music in the download store. This is exactly where Qobuz is now relying on a new system.

Qobuz Coins for purchase

The “Qobuz Coins” come with their own virtual currency that can be used to buy songs or albums. According to the provider, the coins are intended to make purchasing easier and easier. The virtual credit is topped up like with prepaid cards and can then be used for the purchase.

Users can buy the coins in different packages; you can choose from 2,500, 5,000 and 10,000 coins – one coin corresponds to one euro. If coins are available, they can be invested in music via the desktop app, the web player or the download store on the website.

As usual, purchased music files belong to the user for life and can be downloaded in the audio format of your choice to your cell phone, tablet, computer, etc.
