QP6541: Philips promises a more agile OneBlade electric shaver thanks to the 360 ​​head


Who does not know the OneBlade razor? For a few years now, Philips has established itself in shaving with this electric razor that looks like a mechanical shaver. As a reminder, OneBlade heads work the same way as some mowers. Two sets of blades slide over each other and act like dozens of small scissors that cut the hair. Philips has simply miniaturized these elements to the maximum to place them on a head of a size comparable to that of a manual razor.

Available in many iterations (for body hair, teenagers, etc.) since its launch half a dozen years ago, the OneBlade has evolved in small steps. The manufacturer has just unveiled its latest innovation, which concerns the shaving head with the qualifier “360”. While it was almost fixed until now (it could only move back and forth), it can now oscillate from right to left, and vice versa, to gain in agility and better fit the curves of the face. Admittedly, this new joint may lack a bit of amplitude, but it brings the Philips OneBlade even closer to classic manual razors.

Available on the OneBlade QP6541 model at the moment, the 360 ​​head is compatible with older versions of the razor. You can also get it alone for 18 € all the same, knowing that you have to change it ideally every four months. Classic shaving heads are compatible with the OneBlade QP6541. Note that the latter is not revolutionary. It has a li-ion battery which gives it an autonomy of 90 min, and it is a trio of diodes which informs the user of the remaining shaving time. Like its predecessors, the OneBlade QP6541 is intended to be waterproof in the shower, but especially to be passed under water for maintenance.

The Philips OneBlade QP6541 electric shaver is already available for 65 €. It comes with a 360 head, a classic shaving head and two guides: one for body hair and the other for sensitive areas. Note that the first can be adapted to both blades, but the second can only be attached to conventional blades. Finally, the box contains a final shoe with variable height (14 steps from 0.4 mm up to 10 mm) which adapts to both heads, but in this case the 360 ​​head loses its lateral oscillation movement.
