Quantum Code: new characters, Scott Bakula absent? The first info on the reboot revealed

NBC has given the green light to production of the pilot for the Quantum Code sequel. The star of the series, who played the role of Dr. Sam Beckett, could be attached to the project.

Airing between 1989 and 1993 on NBC, the science fiction series Code Quantum featured a scientist, Dr. Sam Beckett, finding himself trapped in the past after his prototype failed to work.

He then moved from body to body to repair the mistakes of the past while hoping to be able to return to his time, having for only contact with her Al, an artificial intelligence.

Last September, Scott Bakula, who played the hero alongside Dean Stockwell as AL, revealed that discussions were underway at NBC to produce a sequel to the cult series. It is now done since the channel has ordered and validated the production of a pilot, according to the HollywoodReporter.

In the synopsis, we learn that thirty years have passed since Dr. Beckett broke into the Quantum Code accelerator and disappeared. Since then, a new team has been assembled to revive the project, hoping to understand the mysteries around the machine and the man who invented it.

It is not yet known if Scott Bakula will be in the game, the Hollywood Reporter simply indicating that nothing is official at this stage, but that the actor could be involved according to some sources.

Broadcast in France on M6 between 1993 and 1994, Code Quantum is made up of 5 seasons created by Donald P. Bellisario, and has been awarded no less than six Emmy Awards and two Golden Globes, including the Prize for Best Actor in a Drama Series and Best Supporting Actor for its two lead performers.
