Quantum computing: the French start-up Quandela uses the services of OVHcloud


The alliance between OVHcloud and Quandela aims to host open-source software in the cloud of the company founded by Octave Klaba. Called Perceval, this tool makes it possible to explore the potential applications of quantum algorithms.

OVHcloud is gradually establishing itself as an essential partner for French players in quantum computing. New illustration with the partnership signed between the northern host and the start-up Quandela, specialized in quantum photonics.

The latter has developed the Perceval software, which makes it possible to run quantum algorithms by simulating an optical quantum computer. The tool is primarily aimed at developers, industrialists and the scientific community as part of their work in the quantum field, by allowing for example to explore the potential applications of this technology which arouses covetousness.

OVHcloud has also entered into a partnership with Atos

The alliance between OVHcloud and Quandela aims to host this open-source software in the cloud of the company founded by Octave Klaba. “With OVHcloud, we will provide users with scalable computing capacity, allowing them to design and simulate algorithms with more photons. By the end of the year, we will make our photonic quantum computer available as a a webservice, which will allow OVHcloud users to seamlessly run their algorithms on a real photonic QPU”explains ValĂ©rian Giesz, co-founder and CEO of Quandela.

A few days ago, OVHcloud had already positioned itself in quantum computing through a partnership with Atos, a French IT group that will lose its CEO, Rodolphe Belmer, and split into two separate entities. The partnership between the two companies aims to integrate the Atos quantum emulator into the OVHcloud cloud. By multiplying partnerships with French players in the sector, the northern company is positioning itself as a key quantum hosting provider in the face of cloud giants such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud.
